Inclusiveness is core to the belief system of the International Working Group (IWG) on Women & Sport. Therefore, we stand against racism, intolerance and hatred. We reject and condemn any form of racial injustice, mistreatment, discrimination or the exclusion of any ethnic groups from society.
Sport and physical activity are a powerful tool, bringing people together from all walks of life. Our sector has a significant role to play in societal equity, fairness, and the empowerment of minorities.
The IWG is committed to equality. We believe that society should be fully inclusive of diverse communities and that everyone has the basic human right to participate safely in every aspect. We value diversity through the provision of equal opportunity, voice, and choice for all people regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, age, or sexual orientation. Our global purpose is to drive worldwide positive social change for women and girls through sport and physical activity.
The IWG is well aware of the bias and barriers that prevent full social inclusion.
We will continue to work worldwide to ensure that women and girls gain equity of access and opportunity to sport and physical activity. We will continue to work to ensure that no one is left out due to gender, ethnicity or any other type of perceived difference. And we will continue to advocate for diversity and inclusion and for change to systems that assist in perpetuating racism and sexism.
