Welcome to the IWG Newsletter

IWG Women and Sport is the world’s largest network dedicated to advancing gender equity and equality in sport, physical education and physical activity.

Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter in which we bring you the latest news, insights, research and events from across our global network.

As the IWG rapidly approaches its Pearl Anniversary next month, our Research Lead Professor Elizabeth Pike has published a book which charts the history of our first 30 years.  It’s a brilliant read, and I’m pleased to share that it is available to download for free as an e-book, thanks to our partner the University of Hertfordshire.

Another highlight for me this month was IWG’s attendance at the prestigious SportAccord World Sport and Business Summit. It was a fantastic opportunity provided to us by the West Midlands Growth Company to exhibit at the event, and to be able to explain more about the IWG to senior sport leaders from around the world. The summit was a huge success for us, and we look forward to continuing the conversations and announcing more Brighton plus Helsinki Declaration signatories soon.

At IWG HQ we are building towards another exciting month. We will be celebrating our 30th birthday with the launch of our IWG Webinar Series, so keep your eyes on our social media platforms for more information on that …coming soon!

We hope you find this edition of the newsletter interesting and informative. As ever, please do contact us at info@iwgwomenandsport.org if you have content for the newsletter, social channels or Insight Hub.
