The IWG is pleased to announce the launch of the ‘IWG Webinar Series’ to coincide with the network’s Pearl Anniversary on 7th May.
Designed to shine a spotlight on the best practices, case studies and insights from across the global network, the IWG Webinar Series will kick-off with a celebration of the IWG, highlighting key moments from its 30-year history.
Featuring special guests Dr Anita White OBE, one of the founding members of the IWG, Professor Elizabeth Pike, author of the recently launched e-book “The International Working Group on Women and Sport 1994-2024: The Challenge of Change” and the current Secretary General Lisa O’Keefe, episode one will give context to the IWG and the purpose it serves to its network members.
Lisa O’Keefe, Secretary General, said: “We’re really looking forward to launching our webinar series, and it’s fitting that we can celebrate our 30th anniversary in the opening episode, setting the scene around why the IWG was founded, the history of progress to date, and where the IWG is heading in the future.”
“The IWG Webinar Series will complement the IWG Insight Hub as a resource that promotes the sharing of best practice and the latest research into gender equality and equity in sport and physical activity around the world, supporting the ongoing development of a connected and collaborative global network, and a key element of the 2022 – 2026 IWG strategic plan. It’ll be my pleasure to sit alongside Anita and Elizabeth to tell the story of the IWG, and we are working on our programme of future episodes which will be driven by the needs of the network.”
