le 8th IWG World Conference on Women & Sport is being offered as both a virtual and a hybrid in-person and virtual experience. We have been working with The Conference Agency to set up a rich and interactive experience for participants later this November.
The online conferencing system, and its associated virtual platform, will launch closer to the event and be loaded with rich interactive content in the lead-up to and beyond the event itself, which will take place from 14-17 November 2022. Content from the event will be streamed live, recorded and re-posted on the platform immediately, for repeat viewing.

The highlight reel is based on the one-hour test event we hosted in July this year to demonstrate the virtual experience and the interactive tools. The Inspire Showcase was hosted by Sarah Cowley Ross (Chair of the New Zealand Olympic Committee Athletes Commission & NZOC Board Member) and featured three 8-minute insights delivered by:
- Farah Palmer (Tainui, Ngāti Maniapoto), one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most successful rugby players. Now an esteemed academic at Massey University, and Deputy Chair of New Zealand Rugby,
- Dr Diane Culver. An associate professor at the School of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, Dr Culver is a renowned expert in social learning theory.
- Robyn Cockburn. A consultant researcher, strategist, facilitator and educator with 25 years’ experience globally and in Aotearoa New Zealand.
