Anita White Fund Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for your interest in the Anita White Fund (AWF). The application window for the 2024 Anita White Fund has now closed. Please visit the IWG Women and Sport Anita White Fund page for background on the AWF.

I applied to the Anita White Fund, when can I expect to hear the outcome?

Due to the very large number of applications we received, we are sorry but we will not be able to communicate with all of the projects we are unable to fund.  If you have not heard by the end of March 2024, please assume that your application was unsuccessful.  This is not a reflection on your very important work, but we only have limited funds to support a small number of projects.

Will there be another call for future funding opportunities?

In response to the overwhelming interest in the Anita White Fund, we are currently seeking further funding.  At this stage, we are not calling for any more applications, but further information will be made on the IWG website as and when it becomes available. To keep up to date with IWG Women and Sport, consider signing up to the IWG Newsletter.

Is there a limit to the number of applicants?

No, we will accept all applications up until the deadline.

When is the deadline to apply for the Anita White Fund?

Applications must be received by February 1st 2024, midnight GMT

Are you able to say how much funding is available?

Applicants can apply for grants up to £2000.  In the event that there are more eligible applications than available funding, we will rank the applications and fund those ranked highest.

Is the Anita White Fund open to international applicants?

Yes, the fund is open to anyone, but applicants must demonstrate in their application how they meet the criteria for the award to which they are applying.

Are you able to support the writing of applications and give feedback on drafts?

We are sorry, but we do not have the resources to help people write their applications or provide feedback on draft application forms.

Can I apply to both awards?

No. Applicants can only apply to one award (either the Anita White Catalyst Grant OR the Cath Sweet Award) in one application period.

How do I apply to the Anita White Fund, the Anita White Catalyst Grant or the Cath Sweet Award?

All the information, including the application process and application form, is available on the main Anita White Fund page.

Can I download a Word version of the application form?

The application form online is a PDF version. To access a Word version of the form, please use either of the following methods:

  1. Adobe Acrobat PDF to Word – a free online PDF to Word editor.
  2. Email info@iwgwomenandsport.org with the subject line ‘Anita White Fund form’, and IWG will reply with a word version of the form.

Can I submit my application in languages other than English?

Sadly no, as the application evaluation team are based in the UK and will need to be reviewed by multiple people.

What countries can apply for the Cath Sweet Award?

Cath Sweet Award projects must be led by a female sports leader located in a low- or middle-income country.

Applicants may use either the official index from the World Bank, or explain in their application how their community meets the criteria.
